20 tips to a healthy pregnancy

Hey,

Are you trying to have a baby? Staying healthy before, during, and
after will make the process much smoother than if you just don't
take care of yourself.

Here's 20 tips that you can use to make sure you are as healthy as
can be during the entire process.

1. See your doctor before trying to become pregnant.

2. Read as many books about pregnancy as you can get your hands on.
The library is your new best friend.

3. Stop smoking. There are plenty of programs available now, so it
doesn't have to be as hard as it once was.

4. Try a new veggie every week, especially if you just don't like
them!

5. Get your partner to join you with the new health changes. Having
your partner participate makes them easier to follow.

6. Talk with friends and family who have had babies in the past.
Their advice is invaluable.

7. Drink more water - at least six ounces a day.

8. Start doing prenatal yoga - at home or in a class.

9. Add at least 300 calories to your diet once you become pregnant.
Remember, you're eating for two now!

10. Take a look at your local birth facilities. Decide on one
that's close and has the best care.

11. Keep a food diary to make sure you're eating enough and eating
well.

12. Swimming is great for those aches and pains associated with
late pregnancy.

13. Take pictures every week during the pregnancy. This is a great
way to look back and see how far you've come.

14. Take a breastfeeding class if you feel uncomfortable with the
idea.

15. Catch a nap whenever you can!

16. Start taking prenatal vitamins.

17. Exercise more often.

18. Avoid chemicals that could harm your baby. This could include
even going all organic.

19. Talk with your parents about how life was when they were
pregnant with you.

20. Talk with your doctor about any changes you feel are abnormal.
Reading plenty of books will help you know what these might be.
