Symptoms and Treatment of Cysts
Hey,
The most common of the symptoms of ovarian cysts is - no symptoms!
It is very normal for a woman to have cysts on her ovaries and be
completely unaware of the condition. Often they are found in the
course of a routine pelvic exam.
Symptoms of ovarian cysts that do present commonly include:
* Abdominal ache or pressure, this may feel like a dull ache in the
pelvis, the vagina, lower back or thighs. Pain may be present on
either or both sides of the body. The pain may be constant or
intermittent
* Painful sexual intercourse
* Menstrual pain which may occur just before menstruation, during
or after
* Bleeding, spotting or menstrual irregularity, including missing
periods, having periods outside of the normal cycle or some
bleeding or spotting
* Pain when urinating
* Nausea or vomiting, either the feeling of wanting to be sick or
actually vomiting

Generally speaking the not so common symptoms are greater cause for
concern. These symptoms indicate possible complications and should
be treated seriously.
Here are some uncommon symptoms of ovarian cysts:
* Severe abdominal pain possibly radiating to the lower back and
pelvis
* Vertigo or light-headedness
* Headache
* Unusual or prolific hair growth on the face or body
The symptoms you experience are dependent on the type of cyst you
have and any associated complications. The feelings of pain,
bloating and tenderness which are commonly experienced symptoms are
caused by the cyst putting pressure on abdominal tissue, twisting
or the size of the cyst.
Avoid birth-control pills that are the typical medical solution.
